Keurig, a leading coffee and beverage company, wanted to explore how to implement more holistic experiences within the context of smart homes. As part of the RFP team, I collaborated with two designers to create unique experiences across multiple touchpoints. Since we wouldn’t be part of the pitch presentation, it was critical that every design was clear and that each piece flowed together seamlessly. The photography used in mockups was for directional purposes only.

Led by Mark Oxier, we identified the key touch-points for Keurig. We would design a “Get Started” page to introduce new experiences, prototype an experimental quiz to guide coffee selections, and envision subscription features for both mobile and smartwatch.

While defining what we would design, Meg Fiechter and I created brand directions. With limited information to work from, we identified areas of the brand to push and drew inspiration from the interior design aesthetics of smart homes.

We designed a landing page that highlights the key areas of the new experiences. To achieve this, we incorporated several innovative educational sections and discovery carousels.

The Barista quiz functions like a virtual barista, recommending the right Keurig machines, pods, and subscription services to match individual preferences.
Our new Keurig app concept includes push notification actions, personalized shipments, rewards tied to subscriptions, and engaging coffee brew challenges.

To unify the Keurig ecosystem, we created a smartwatch app that would connect to the mobile app and Keurig machines. Key features include starting a Keurig brew directly from a smartwatch, coffee break notifications, and an interactive rating system to review each cup.
