Creating new UX patterns for an art collective

Problem

Art is a noun that can loosely be defined as "the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination." Since the creation of the internet, new artistic mediums have also emerged, along with digital art spaces. Rhinocéros is a digital art collective comprised of digital artists from around the French-speaking world. They needed a brand identity and a website that captures the experimental ideas of their collective.

Solution

Taking inspiration from contemporary art spaces, I created an identity system with a dynamic logo and an experimental website that zooms forward instead of scrolling down.

As someone who mainly works with digital mediums, it's easy to go straight into design platforms. This project taught me how crucial sketching is, because it took a matter of seconds to make complex design decisions.

creative thinking solves problems

This project stretched my ability to think outside of the box. After I finished this project, I was able to find new and different solutions for tricky problems in other projects.

Usability will always be important

Experimental design can help with individual and collective creativity, but I didn't get to test this project. Doing so may reveal insight on its usability.
